I GAVE YOU POWER

Rapping super producer is back with no holds barred. After an impromptu four track listening at an NYC club over the weekend West dropped his first rap song in almost a year "Power." Wests impact was felt last year after he stormed the MTV VMAs stage stealing the spotlight from pop darling Taylor Swift causing a firestorm of backlash that grabbed the attention of President Barack Obama. On the songs hook West quotes a line from director Spike Lees Malcolm X biopic rapping "That's too much power for one man." West will reportedly release his next album "Good Ass Job" in September.

SHE'S HAVING A BABY

After weeks of denial and hiding a baby bump singer Alicia Keys announced that she and boyfriend Swizz Beatz are expecting their first child together and will marry later this year. A rep confirmed the rabid reports to People last night detailing the couple would "wed later this year in a private ceremony." The news comes on the heels of Swizz's recent divorce to singer Mashonda just a few weeks ago.

NO SIGNS OF SLOWING DOWN

Incarcerated rapper Lil Wayne is setting history hosting a mixtape from his "penthouse suite" live from Rikers Island on the DJ Scoob Doo/DJ Drama collabo, "Fetti Holmes 2." On the mixtape Wayne talks about his past three months on the Island and says that he's picked up on the New York lingo such as "what up son," "what up, b" heavily used by New Yorkers, all new to the New Orleans native. On the new mixtape Young Money artists such as Gudda Gudda and even Rick Ross drum up their "Free Weezy" campaign on the tape.

Jailed rapper Max B received a bit of good news after he received his publishing rights back from Jim Jones following a minor legal tussle. A judge set Max free from his contractual ties to the Diplomat co-founder noting the wavy MC had fulfilled his obligations. Max has been at odds with Jim for the past two years and Jim himself declared he "owned Max," angering the rappers followers who claimed Jim was attempting to block Max's blossoming career. Max B is currently serving over 70 years on murder charges in a robbery case turned deadly.

BP LEAK

Forget the leak in the Gulf of Mexico, rapper Drake is experiencing his own natural disaster. In anticipation of his highly sought after "Thank Me Later" LP the latest record from the album to hit the net features none other than Jay-Z on "Light Up." Last month Drake revealed the collaboration and said it was one of Jay's best work to date. Another record that also hit yesterday "Fireworks" sees Drake speaking at length about his one night with Rihanna, who made headlines after a date in New York City last year at bowling alley Lucky Strike.

A NEW LOOK

50 Cent is expected to go left on his upcoming 'Black Magic" album, straying away from typical Curtis Jackson topics that helped him climb the charts as one of the most successful acts in history. But on his new effort Fif says fans should expect a more mature sound with inspirations from the likes of Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac "I listen to those records to create expectations," 50 told the Detroit Free Press. "It creates a level to me, within myself, of how good the record has to be before I'm ready to launch it."
